a lecture on love it shocked me...when mark gave me the look...the look suggesting he has thought of something spectacular...and it made my eyes widen, the hair on my skin crawl, every nerve within me went crazy, as if trying to oppose with all its strength, in all disbelief, that I have been chosen to lecture about...love...ahem ahem... what the heck do i know about this thing...it has been estranged to me for the past three years and I totally lost all memories of it since my last relationship. Now, i am about to speak of something that I don't know just because it's love month. so as to fulfill my chairman's appointment and the responsibility bestowed upon me (but most specially to save me from humiliating myself, i could visualize a jaw dropped aubrey, standing in front of the cfc youth, tongue tied, with no words coming out of her big mouth, trying to gather her thoughts, totally alienated because she is the only person in that room who doesn't know anything about love) I called up my friends. borrowed a book discussing Christian love. Still not satisfied, I bought this book, "When God Writes Your Love Story" which I was able browse sometime in Powerbooks, searched on the net. And with a bag full of prayers I started to jot down certain points that i would personally like to learn and hear about, searched for bible passages, organized them and voila...i have my lecture materials... this is something fresh from the author, if you're in dire need with something of this kind, feel free to read it. don't worry, i checked out the verses on the bible, some had needed to be paraphrased because their too lengthy...May God bless us all... II. Practical Tips: - God should be first on your list. Men/women can cheat on you, betray you, leave you, men/women die, but God will never leave us nor forsake us. - Love yourself. You should not rely on other people or the opposite to complete you or to make you happy. Otherwise, you will find disappointment in not finding people who fits your needs. You should find completeness and share it completeness to your future partner. (Get a hobby, sports, study more, etc.) - Don’t go waste yourself and your time waiting or going around looking for future partners. You may get tired of looking, frustrated and you’ll find that a lot of opportunities for your personal growth has been wasted just because you were busy searching for a partner. - Don’t go looking around in the wrong places. You are not only hurting your self but also, you are hurting God because of your sinful deeds. - Do not compromise. Never say “pwede na.” Do not lower your standards in choosing a partner. You live by the standards of your Christian family and your heavenly father. II Corinthiains 6:14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? - Find the right friends. Friends who share the same standards and beliefs as you are. - Do not envy others who have already found their partners. Pray continually, the Lord has His best plans for you. III.
